MedLine Plus Health Information: A service of the U.S. National Library of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health.

MayoClinic.com: Access to the experience and knowledge of the more than 2,000 physicians and scientists of Mayo Clinic. Owned by the Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research, the site's mission is to "empower people to manage their health...by providing useful and up-to-date information and tools that reflect the expertise and standard of excellence of Mayo Clinic."

Virtual Hospital: A digital health sciences library created in 1992 at the University of Iowa to help meet the information needs of health care providers and patients. "Contains thousands of textbooks and booklets for health care providers and patients."

The Medical Reporter: An independent, educational, non-profit health magazine published solely on the World Wide Web. It provides information about preventive medicine, primary care, patient advocacy and education, and men's and women's issues.

Center for Health Care Strategies, Inc.: "Promotes high quality health care services for low-income populations and people with chronic illnesses and disabilities. Its program priorities are: improving quality, reducing racial and ethnic disparities, and increasing community options for people with disabilities."

National Academy for State Health Policy: A non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to helping states achieve excellence in health policy and practice.

Medical Record Privacy (Electronic Privacy Information Center): EPIC is a public interest research center in Washington, D.C. established in 1994 "to focus public attention on emerging civil liberties issues and to protect privacy, the First Amendment, and constitutional values."
